CURRICULUM

Welcome to Kinderhouse, where quality and meaning-making in early childhood education is our trademark! We are delighted to share with you our comprehensive program and hope you will also experience why our students ask “Is it Kinderhouse day today?”

Our vision is to provide a high quality educational program to nurture the development of young children in several areas: social, emotional, intellectual, character and physical. We offer a plethora of educational programming for children as young as 2 years of age up to 6 year olds.

Kinderhouse discards the dichotomy that currently exists in the scholarly field between play and academics and integrates both in the educational engagements with students. Kinderhouse believes that all children are competent learners and have capacity, ability and intelligence in various domains. Our curriculum therefore seeks to open the windows to the world for its students by integrating all the philosophies and approaches in early and primary education. In this way, we teach to the intelligences, focusing on both right and left brain learning, higher mental functions, metacognitive development and executive function skills.

1/1

Kinderhouse seeks to accomplish this vision through the following standards of practice:

  • A child-centered and caring learning environment

  • Use of developmentally appropriate and enriched materials and activities

  • Commitment to students and student learning through an emphasis on individual and small group instruction and timely evaluation

  • Collaboration with parents

Our core values are four-fold:

  • Student-centered Learning through an Integrative Approach

  • Creativity, Artistry & Academics

  • Quality Care

  • Independent Learning & Collaborative Explorations
